Parish School of Religion

For children not enrolled in Catholic School.

Students must be registered in the program to attend classes. Click here to register for the 2016-17 Calendar Year. For more information contact Lori Tomecek, Coordinator of PSR.

The Sacred Heart of Jesus Parish School of Religion (PSR) Program consists of two main components.

Part 1: Attend weekly Mass and turn in homework assignments.
PSR students are required to attend weekly Mass at Sacred Heart of Jesus Parish from September 18 - April 30 and turn in weekly homework assignments. All students will receive a homework booklet that will need to be completed, signed by the Pastor or Deacon at that weekend's Mass, and turned in each week. Missing more than 3 weekend Masses/homework assignments will result in the program extending throughout the summer for that student. All students/families are asked to attend either the 9:00 or 11:00 Mass on Sundays at Sacred Heart of Jesus Church.

Part 2: Attend one week of classes the first week of June.
From June 5-9, PSR students will attend one week of classes from 8:00am - 11:45am. Attendance is mandatory in order to be promoted to the next grade.

**Students in 2nd grade are prepared to receive the Sacraments of First Reconciliation and First Eucharist. They will be required to attend 2 classes before First Reconciliation and 3 classes before First Eucharist. A calendar of all requirements will be given to the parents of 2nd grade students.

**1st and 2nd grade students will be required to provide a copy of their baptismal certificate along with their online registration.

**Mandatory Parent/Child meeting will take place on September 18th following the 11:00 Mass. Lunch will be included. Parents and students must attend.

2016-17 Confirmation Meeting Schedule

Adult Confirmation

If you are a baptized Catholic age 18+ who was never confirmed and who is interested in receiving this sacrament, the Adult Formation program here at Sacred Heart can help you. Adults are confirmed by the Bishop on Pentecost Sunday. Please contact the Clare Coulon for more information.

RCIA

This parish program runs from August through May.
It is intended to help non-Catholics interested in learning about the Catholic Church. The program, which meets for two hours each week, invites participants to explore the Faith in a friendly, supportive atmosphere. Though the program is focused on those interested in becoming Catholic, it can also be helpful for persons returning to the Faith after a long time away, and for those cradle Catholics who want a basic refresher in Catholic essentials.
