At Sacred Heart of Jesus, our desire is to love Jesus and to spend our lives making Him loved in the Blessed Sacrament, in the Sacred Scriptures, and in the poorest of the poor. The Jesus we adore in the Blessed Sacrament is the Jesus who speaks to us in Sacred Scripture and the Jesus who tells us, “Whatever you did for one of these least brothers of mine, you did for me” (Matthew 25:40).

The First Saturdays of September through May, we want to invite you and your family to come encounter Jesus with us at Sacred Heart for First Saturday: Mass, Meals & Mission. Come encounter Jesus in the Eucharist, in the Bible, and in the least among us. Jesus is waiting for us at the altar, in His Word, and in the poorest of the poor.

We will have groups picking up litter in the community, cutting grass at the Sweet Olive Cemetery, stocking our food pantry, serving at Front Yard Bikes, cleaning our church, and serving with Mother Teresa’s Missionaries of Charity at their women’s shelter and soup kitchen. We will also bring blessing bags to our neighbors at the bus station and outside the St. Vincent de Paul homeless shelter. Each Saturday brings a unique set of volunteer opportunities all of which begin at the altar and invite us to take what we have received into the streets! Come pray, fellowship and serve with us.
